On June 14th, the project partner Università Politecnica delle Marche (UNIVPM) has organized a Special Session within the International Workshop on Metrology for Living Environment (IEEE MetroLivEnv) 2024, in Chania, Crete.

The conference was chaired by Prof. Gian Marco Revel, Prof. Gloria Cosoli and Eng. Alessandra Mobili (UNIVPM).

The goal of the Special Session was to promote the latest research contributions in the field of sustainability and circularity in building construction, one of the main workhorses of RECONSTRUCT. Advanced technologies for material characterization, vision systems, depth sensors, and artificial intelligence applications were shown as pivotal tools that can contribute to the optimization of the whole construction and demolition waste life cycle, ensuring a more eco-friendly construction process. Also, traditional and advanced portable solutions implemented within the project were explained.

This conference was a great international opportunity to show how RECONSTRUCT supports the design, construction, and deconstruction of fully circular buildings. This commitment will be concretized in the further steps that RECONSTRUCT will take towards the construction of the demo building in Barcelona and Brussels.
