CircHub Joint Workshop on Sustainable & Energy-Efficient Building Materials
Events
RECONSTRUCT and its CircHub sister projects co-organise a joint workshop to explore how bio-based and circular innovations can accelerate the transition to energy-efficient, low-carbon buildings in Europe.
Connecting Research, Innovation and Energy Efficiency
To mark the World Energy Efficiency Day on March 5th, RECONSTRUCT is joining forces with its CircHub sister projects to co-organise a joint workshop dedicated to bio-based and circular solutions for energy-efficient buildings.
Taking place in Naples, Italy, the workshop brings together Horizon Europe projects working at the intersection of sustainable construction, circularity and energy efficiency, providing a valuable opportunity to exchange knowledge and strengthen collaboration across initiatives addressing shared challenges.
The event will serve as a space for deeper cross-project dialogue and synergies among research and innovation projects developing the next generation of building materials.
CircHub in Action
Buildings account for a over 40% of Europe’s energy use and greenhouse emissions. In this context, bio-based materials and circular construction approaches play a key role in reducing energy demand, lowering carbon footprints, and supporting the EU’s climate and circular economy objectives.
Through this joint initiative, the CircHub projects aim to:
- Showcase recent research results and demonstrations on sustainable and circular building materials
- Discuss opportunities and challenges related to integrating energy efficiency and circularity in the built environment
- Identify policy and market pathways that can accelerate the uptake of innovative, low-carbon construction solutions
- Strengthen collaboration among EU-funded projects addressing similar challenges
